Pitney Bowes Software has teamed with WindowBook™, the leading provider of mailing electronic documentation (eDocumentation) solutions, to offer the DAT-MAIL MSP eDocumentation software product. DAT-MAIL MSP allows users of PAVE™ certified pre-sort applications, including our MailStream Plus, to meet the eDocumentation requirements for USPS® Intelligent Mail™ Full Service compliance.
DAT-MAIL MSP offers a comprehensive set of features that make it easy to implement eDocumentation compliant to the USPS standards for First Class Mail, Periodicals and Standard Mail. DAT-MAIL MSP makes it easy to change Mail.dat pre-sort information to minimize postage costs, reduce spoilage and quicken the delivery of your mail. Users of DAT-MAIL MSP are able to:
- Change estimated mail piece rates to the actual rates
- Split a single mailing across multiple mailings
- Change piece weights and quantities
- Enter Periodical advertising percentages
- Remove spoilage mail pieces
- Change drop ship origins and entry points

DAT-MAIL™ MSP
The DAT-MAIL MSP solution is most appropriate for mailers that prepare mixed weight manifests and/or drop shipping. Using DAT-MAIL MSP you can automate 24-digit USPS® Certified sack, tag and pallet placard printing to various standards.
DAT-MAIL MSP allows users to create postage statements that more accurately reflect all of the changes to your mail and submit those statements to PostalOne. DAT-MAIL MSP users can automate the import of their Mail.dat files so that those files may be analyzed, modified, saved and printed for further processing by the USPS. You may easily modify pre-sort information to accurately reflect final mailing through an intuitive user interface that lets you modify or update data including mailing dates, advertising percentages and entry points. DAT-MAIL MSP allows users to create postage statements (eDoc and paper) that more accurately reflect all of the ‘updates’ or ‘adjustments’ to your mail and submit those statements to PostalOne.
DAT-MAIL MSP with Spoilage Management
The DAT-MAIL MSP with Spoilage Management solution is most appropriate for First Class and Standard Class mailers with mixed weight manifests. Not only does this solution include all of the robust features of the DAT-MAIL MSP solution, it also:
- Allows you to remove spoilage from your Mail.dat files. You can either manually enter or scan spoiled pieces, or automatically import spoilage information from an Intelligent inserter
- Allows your Postal Clerk to view and approve your manifests
DAT-MAIL MSP with Toolbox and FAST™
The DAT-MAIL MSP with Toolbox and FAST solution is most appropriate for mail service providers who drop ship their mail pieces. This solution begins with the comprehensive set of features found in our DAT-MAIL MSP solution and also allows users to:
- Select the best mail entry point for individual and pooled jobs that will minimize transportation costs for mailings
- Create pallets for Standard Class and First Class mailings including the allowance for loose sacks on any created pallet
- Schedule drop ship appointments using FAST which is integrated using the USPS Web service interface (USPS Mail.XML Certified)
