Employ automatic and interactive geocoding
MapMarker® – New Zealand runs in both automatic and interactive mode. Automatic mode is used as a first pass geocoding tool, with interactive mode used to select the best match for unmatched records.
Clean and standardize address data
MapMarker – New Zealand ensures a high match rate by utilizing fuzzy logic and Soundex indexing to manage misspellings, data errors and omissions, and comparing records to an embedded New Zealand address file. This address file has been compiled from state and territory government information and is one of the most comprehensive geocoded address files in New Zealand.
Geocode street intersections
Using a standard input format of Street 1 and Street 2, MapMarker – New Zealand generates coordinates of street intersections, based on the Pitney Bowes Software StreetPro® road network.
Attach attributes on the desktop
MapMarker – New Zealand’s attribution feature, available in the desktop version, allows you to attach data from any table containing boundaries to geocoded records.
Process in batch
MapMarker – New Zealand provides batch geocoding for processing one or more tables without constant user interaction. This feature is useful for overnight processing of large databases or regularly updated tables.
Determine matches with result codes
MapMarker – New Zealand enables you to determine whether a match was made, and what portions of the address were used, to confirm the quality of the match.
Read a variety of file formats
MapMarker – New Zealand reads any .tab or.dbf format table. An ODBC interface is available through the desktop product to facilitate connections to other sources of address data.

Enjoy quick geocoding
For geocoding without all the set-up, the MapMarker – New Zealand quick geocode button allows you to click and go. The table will be geocoded with the current preferences without displaying the geocode dialog. To use this feature, the table must have been opened previously in MapMarker to set the columns and geocoding preferences.
