The CallingAreaInfo™ solution maps the local calling plans available to business and residential customers when calling out from or into given locations. Calling plans are the rate structures that determine when phone numbers can call each other under the plan and at what rates. Most local exchange carriers offer more than one calling plan for each NPA/NXX combination they serve. The CallingAreaInfo solution also distinguishes local calls based on cost and status, including free, toll, time of day and holiday.
Users can visualize the calling area from two perspectives. To examine the local calling plan for calls that originate from a location, also called outbound calling areas and to identify and map the exchanges that include a specific location in their calling plans, also called inbound calling areas.
