By transforming addresses into precise latitudes and longitudes, the Enterprise Routing Module automatically calculates the distance between two points in terms of time or distance. To do this, the Enterprise Routing Module uses isochrones and isodistances to make the calculations. An isochrone is an area that can be traversed in a given amount of time, while an isodistance represents the points that are within a certain distance, such as miles or kilometers.

The Enterprise Routing Module’s Create Travel Boundary tool allows you to create polygons corresponding to precise isochrone or isodistance calculations. In addition to the information needed for targeting and service eligibility, this tool provides insight that helps you identify gaps (areas that cannot be reached within the desired time or distance) and islands (pockets that fall outside traditional boundaries that can be reached within a desired time or distance).

The Enterprise Routing Module’s Get Travel Directions tool returns routing information for two distinct points or for multiple points, accessing up-to-date databases for the specific countries you select.
